Lieve Dejonghe was born in Ostend (Belgium) in 1961.
After completing high school in Arts she went on for a bachelor in Arts Education at Bruges.
Later on she took specialized evening and weekend courses in drawing and painting at the academy of Bruges and in Ghent.
While teaching art in Bruges until 1995, she also worked as an artist painter, book illustrator, author of travel stories and an illustrated diary of a China journey.
From 1995 on she took specialized classes from famous masters in realistic painting in Belgium, France and Holland. She abandoned teaching and became a professional artist painter.
Her current work has a unique character and language. It is a contemporary expression of her soul, either in abstract form or as a particular symbiosis of abstract and realistic images.
She exhibited her work in various countries but her life-experience was the exhibition of her work in The Belgium Pavilion at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.
She presently has a studio in Temse where she paints 8-10 hours a day.
